Design is not just a matter of aesthetics or visual communication: it is a method of thinking, of collaborating, and of transforming the way we construct knowledge. Friday, July 10, Future Education Modena dedicates an entire day to’Advanced Design and to his applications in school and society.

Two distinct events, yet linked by the same thread, will accompany teachers, students and the citizens of Modena from afternoon to evening, combining practical experimentation in school with cultural debate in the square.

“Design for Learning” Workshop and the Launch of the Partnership with Canva

The day opens in the afternoon at the FEM headquarters (Via Ramazzini, 7, Modena) with the practical workshop “Design for Learning: Plan your school's open house with Canva and Advanced Design”.

The meeting will be the occasion to officially present FEM's entry into Canva's global program as Education Creator. Thanks to this collaboration, FEM will design and publish exclusive toolkits and teaching templates within the space Canva Education, the section of the platform used for free by millions of teachers and students around the world.

During the workshop in collaboration with Canva and the Advanced Design department of the University of Bologna, university teachers and students will be able to see first-hand the first resources born from this synergy, such as the models optimised for Canva Whiteboard. The afternoon's goal is to provide school professionals with concrete tools to map classroom needs, choose the most appropriate teaching methodologies, and collaboratively plan the reception and communication of school open days, making daily teaching more accessible and effective.

Learning Design, with Mauro Sabella

In the evening, the focus on design shifts outdoors and opens to the public. Within the festival Sant'Agostino – A square for culture, which for the second consecutive year transforms Largo Piazza Sant'Agostino into a location for cultural evening events in which art, science, health and educational technologies interact (included in the wider programme of the’Modena Summer), FEM presents the event “Learning Design”, which will see the scientific-educational popularizer as a guest Mauro Sabella.

What happens when design becomes a way of learning, and learning itself turns into an act of shared design? Through live sessions, cross-disciplinary interactions, and open dialogues, the evening will explore how design e learn are two verbs that are conjugated together today. This union represents one of the most powerful keys to redesigning the schools and communities of the future.

It will be an event where design becomes a living practice: a collaborative and participatory process capable of making educational technologies accessible, restoring a profoundly concrete and democratic dimension to innovation.
